05 March 2021 ─ The 2021 Music Singapore International Piano & Violin Competition unveiled its preliminary results today.
The competition had received over 350 entries from Singapore, Europe, China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia and selected participants will go into the Final round across each of the categories. Candidates will be looking to impress world-class musicians including ABRSM Southeast Asia regional consultant, Ryan Lewis, Prof. Michael Schäfer and Prof. Ilona Then-Bergh from Germany, Borislava Taneva from Bulgaria and local renowned violinist Ng Yu-Ying and pianist Rena Cheung Phua.
There are ten (10) categories for both piano and violin; and the winners in each category will receive trophies, certificates and attractive prizes.
Organised by the Asia Music Book Store for the first time, Music Singapore aims to further the development of promising young violinists and pianists aged between 4 to 28-year-old while serving as a showcase for aspiring young talents. Music Singapore is one of the international competitions in Singapore to be held annually and to feature two disciplines ─ piano and violin.
The Final round competition will take place from takes place 15 – 18 March 2021 via live stream.
