Choir and Vocal Judge | Tenor | Choral Conductor

A native of Malaysia and now based in Singapore, tenor Raymond Lee Pei Khoon is a distinguished musician, vocal performer, and choral conductor. Raymond earned his Diploma in Music Performance (Vocal Studies) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music from the University of Wales, under the guidance of Mr. Lim Shieh Yih. He later completed a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting under the tutelage of Prof. Pedro Monteiro at the University of Saint Joseph (Macau) in 2015.

Raymond is an award-winning performer with an impressive record of accolades, including first prizes at The 34th and 37th Malaysia National Art Song Singing Competitions, The Trinity Guildhall Music Competition in Singapore, The 7th Malaysia Christian Singing Competition, and the American Protégé International Vocal Competition (Professional Group) in Traditional Repertoire. He made his operatic debut in 2011 with the Singapore Lyric Opera in Strauss’ Salome and has since performed notable roles such as Pang in Puccini’s Turandot (2016) and Scholar Tao in the musical Songs of Liu San Jie with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (2018).

An accomplished recitalist, Raymond has held numerous solo recitals and performed in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United States. He has been featured as a tenor soloist in significant works, including Bach's Motet BWV227, Cantata BWV24, Mass in B Minor, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, and the Symphonic Poem: Battle of the Red Cliffs at the National University of Singapore (2019).

Raymond is also an experienced choral conductor, leading choirs in Singapore and Malaysia to achieve Gold awards in international choir competitions. Between 2013 and 2019, his students earned top prizes in prestigious competitions such as the American Protégé (New York), Golden Classical International Music Competition, and ZhongSin International Music Talent Competition (China). A dedicated ensemble singer, Raymond was a tenor with Amoris Singers and Raffles Singers (2011–2021), Resonance of Singapore (2022–2023), and currently performs with Singapore Choral Artists, Singapore's premier professional a cappella choral ensemble.

Recognized for his expertise in choral music and vocal artistry, Raymond continues to inspire excellence as a performer, conductor, and adjudicator in the field of choir and vocal music.
