When is the closing date?The competition registration for the Physical format end at 11:59pm, 31st May 2024. While the Virtual format end at 11:59pm, 29th February 2024 extended to 14 March 2024.

What are the key dates?Physical Format: Registration closing date and video submission: 31st May 2024 (23:59 SGT) Announcement of shortlisted finalist for physical format: 15th June 2024. How do I upload my videos?The online video recording will need to be submitted upon registration via a YouTube or Tencent Video (腾讯视频) URL. It is the candidate’s responsibility to create a clear video recording. The video recording has to be continuous and unedited.

Is there any age limit?Yes, there is age limits for the Open Solo Category. However, candidates are allowed to enrol at a higher age category. No, there are no age limits for the ABRSM Graded Category. For more information, contact us.

Can I enroll in more than one category?Yes, candidates can enrol in more than one category and different formats.

Do I need to pay additional fees to participate in various categories?Yes. If a student is competing in more than one category, the registration fees for the selected categories will apply accordingly.

When will I be notified about the results of the video screening round?Review of preliminary round for physical format will be made from 15th June 2024 and all participants will be notified of their status shortly on or after 15th June 2024. We seek your kind patience, while awaiting the results.

When is the final round of the competition?The final round of the 2024 Music Singapore International Competition will be held between 12th - 17th August 2024. Shortlisted finalists will be notified shortly on or after 23rd June 2024.

What is a Masterclass?A Masterclass is a specialized session led by an expert in a particular field, providing in-depth instruction, feedback, and guidance to participants. In the context of Music Singapore, our Masterclasses are conducted by our esteemed judges and members, offering aspiring musicians the opportunity to learn directly from them, honing their skills and techniques in a focused and immersive environment.

Who can participate in Music Singapore's Masterclass?Our Masterclasses are open to musicians of all levels, ranging from beginners to advanced performers. Whether you're a budding talent looking to refine your skills or an experienced musician seeking to further develop your artistry, our Masterclasses offer valuable insights and personalized instruction tailored to your needs. Registration for Masterclass is on first come first served basis. Non-contestants may apply for the masterclasses too.

How long are the Masterclass sessions?Our masterclass sessions are 30 minutes each. You may book more slots depending on the complexity of the material being covered.

How do I sign up for a Masterclass?To sign up for a Masterclass, simply visit our website and navigate to the Masterclass section. https://www.musicsingapore.com.sg/masterclass From there, you can view the available sessions and instructors, select the one that interests you, and proceed with the registration process. Be sure to check the schedule and availability of each session, as spots may be limited.

Can I attend a Masterclass as an observer?Yes, only you are related to or invited by the masterclass student or invited by the masterclass student. For guests, please email ask@musicsingapore.com.sg. All guests are subject to approval and a SGD30 charge per person. Complimentary entry only for the following: For piano, one parent/guardian may accompany the student (if below 18). For violin, only one piano accompanist may accompany the student.

What do I need to prepare for the Masterclass?To make the most of your Masterclass experience, we recommend preparing a repertoire piece in advance. Please send the score of your chosen piece to ask@musicsingapore.com.sg prior to the session. During the Masterclass, be prepared to perform your piece to the best of your ability, as this will facilitate personalized feedback and enhance your learning curve.
